On Tuesday, April 9, WW8 hosts the Focus Meeting B of the DFG Priority Program SPP 2206 KOMMMA (Cooperative, multi-stage, multi-stable microactuators). Around 22 scientists from Freiburg, Saarbrücken, Berlin, Dresden, Karlsruhe and Fürth will meet here to exchange about the recent progress in cooperative micro actuator concepts. One of the central ideas is to use synergies and coupling effects to enhance functionality and multi-stability for small-scale applications, with a focus on dielectric elastomer and shape memory materials. Dr. Silvia Bonfanti from the Physics department of University Milano will give an invited talk “Design of Metamaterial-Based and Bio-Inspired Actuators”.
